Hey all,
I am wondering if anybody knows where I can find a tutorial on how to model and animate hair like in the final fantasy games (not the movie, that hair is too real). Or just any good tutorials on hair would be great.
I dont like to ask but I'm not having much luck with searching the net.

Thanks heaps

hi..me my slef have been struggling creating hair lately, it's such pain in the ass...i wonder if there is an easier way. anyhow, the texturing it self is not that hard...usually i just make the texture in photoshop - plus the alpha channel. then just assign it to a nurbs plan with skeleton. thats it basically. and the hard part is yet to come.....you gotta copy em all and place them...the placing & styling thing is kinda tricky. so if anybody have any guide about this would be greatly appreciated. thanks a bunch:bowdown:

Thanks guys,
I had a look at that site, good ideas!
I was watching the "ice age" dvd the other day and they were using some kind of "tags" system to do fur etc, looked like 1000's of single pollys with a hair/alpha channel, looked pretty good, dont know how they got them to animate tho.

Thanks, I will keep looking and if I find stuff I will post it here

yeah i assume they are using a fur/hair generator... that thing is heavy:D usually i prefer using textured plan for hair, for some reason it gives the character an anime/game looks:)
