View Full Version : Smoothing out the strokes using an old tablet

I'm having a problem with quick curve strokes in photoshop coming out jaggedy when I use my old 4x5 Wacom Penpartner tablet. I don't have this problem with Alias sketchbook pro, so is there a setting that maybe I'm missing?

For example, if I draw a circle real fast, it comes out looking like a circular shape made of 10-20 straight lines. If I do the same in ASP, it comes out nice and smooth and circular. If I draw it slowly in photoshop, I'm okay.

Could it be a memory issue with my PC?

Yup definitely - happens to me when I use my wacom: either the data transfer between the tablet & pc is too slow, or my ram is too slow...

Try giving photoshop 90% of the RAM usage in preferences...

Also there was a thread in technical section on lagging WACOM in PS. People have been advised to shorten the timing on double click feature on wacom pens, or disable it to a button all together.. So if you are experiencing lags try that.

I reckon we should have a thread with all the wacom stuff on it, that would be good i reckon...
