Hi all,

I got a little question, i'm making a projectionmap (black and white) for a light but when i crop the bitmap down the area where the bitmap was before it was cropped is now black..but i want it white.
Anyone know how to fix that?

I know it's easily done using photoshop or even MS paint but i was just wondering if it can be done in max, it would be much easier.

I'm not sure I get how you are cropping it. If you just instance the map into the material editor and use the cropping/placement for the bitmap, it should be no problem to crop. the cropped bitmap would be the entire texture. If your are using placement, though, you have to do it differently. make the map a composite material, and put your bitmap with placment on the bottom, then for the top slot put either a solidColor map (free plugin from blur) or a gradient with all the colours set to white.

If you are doing it some other way, you will have to tell me how you are doing it before I can help you. But this should work, if I understand you correctly.

Pic is of placement, in case you need it.

hello Sin-D! u could use crop in the bitmap thing, it resizes the bitmap as Flipped_Normal said. (i'm very literate now)

thanks flipped_normal, that worked

I did use the cropping and placement in the material editor and now the black outline is white, just what i needed :applause:

oh btw i used the gradient map in the composite map.
