Well here it is, I accomplished this by a simple reflective texture and some cell shading... I know it doesn’t look like it but its there. Any help on this would be greatly Appreciated, I have to understand this software before I have the class. I want to get an A :)

Very good usage of the cell shader! I like the concept all together. You may want to try experimenting with a brushed metal look.

Keep it up!

Thanks :)
Brushed metal? how would I go about doing something like that? With bump maps?

I was trying to do the brushed metal with the alpha channel and came up with this strange looking transparency effect... Hehe, Im such a newbie :) ...

simplest brushed metal, turn of specularity channel, turn on Luminosity channel, add a LUMAS channel shader (arrow n the imafe input field) of that channel under bhodinut SLA. Click edit and a dialog should pop up with a diffusion three specularities some other things and anistropics. Activate anistropics, now you have your brushed look. I wouls restict this to the base part and not the text, the other thing is that the font isn't really working for me personally but I love the style and look of it, the transperancy is cool in the second image too, but it should be the bump and not alpha that you would add this too, as alpha basically controls visibility of the objects using images as maps. Yu are doing some great stuff already, and again I really like the illustrative look of your first image, go with it and play with some brushed metal it may look cool. If you like the cel shaded look check out my little preset pack

Nice design :)

I agree with Kai about the font.Maybe a capital N would look better for more emphasis and also portrays a more powerful presence if you will, depending on the audience its for etc. Also the little domes on the outside are kind of distracting. For a logo look for simplicity which gets your point/idea across clearly. In your logo you want to convey your name ndat right,so the domes although nice take away from the emphasis of the point which is a portrayal of your name. The outer design looks great.........just my opinions :)

This is a good point, on the first image they don't bother me as much, but they could definietely be at least a little more subtle to make the lees of a distraction, but in the second they don't work at all as they are getting the highlight so they take the first focuse being the hottest spots.

I messed with the scene a bit to incorporate your suggestions and found that a change of font did help alot. Unfortunately the capital n just doesn’t work because it made the scene very unbalanced and drew your attention sharply to it. The capsule screws however I was able to fix, all I did was create another texture with slightly less reflection and it fixed them right up...

Also thanks for the shaders Kia, very intuitive stuff. I had no idea that you could do that kinda stuff with the basic material editor and lumas settings. If you really want some quick cartoon renderings I’ve found just use the cheen shader, like that guy on the thread was showing, and you can get some really cartoon accurate stylings.
