View Full Version : My Nissan 350's tutorial
Hi guys :)
I've finished my tutorial about modeling Nissan 350Z. I've split it in 5 parts because it was too long, and I also made it in PDF 'cause it more usefull.
Here you are all 5 parts in italian/english languages (special thanks to Jhavna andPsychoSilence who helped me to translate them :) ).

Hi guys
I'm very glad that you like it because I've spent something like a week for making it.
Yes, it would be very nice if you translate it in some other languages such as german or russian (I have to translate it in english, I know).

why translate it? it works just like it is. If there is a word we cant understand, we can babblefish it. The tools seem to be listed and there are LITERALLY step by step pictures.
I think your time would be better spent creating another tutorial of the same quality.
good job-and nice avatar!
Lol, gorilla.
I've changed the link in my first message, now you can find my tutorial on my site: www.cgreality.com
I've suddivided tutorial in 10 pages insteed of 7 because it is very long. :)

Nice work! Can't wait for the translation... maybe I'll try to Babelfish it...
THANKS!
Actually forget babelfish... let me quote you a translation:
Fairies double click on the name in order to open the property and set up Subdivisions 6 Width to and Subdivisions Depth to 2. Fairies a click on the written PolyCube1 and changed to the name putting something more recognizable
You're asking a lot if you need fairies to follow this tutorial ;)

Part 4 and 5?
Well, I need someone to correct them. :hmm:

Thanx!
This is the first time I have been able to do some thing smooth and with sharp edges. It was difficult to make the sharp edge in the middle of the hood (change from 3 to 4 edges). I use max but your advice for maya seams to work with max also.
A question:
- I think I have poor grafics on the plane where the blueprints are. Is there a way to fix that? (do you know even if you use Maya?)
As I sad before: Thanx for the tutorial :)

Ciao Dias. Dicciamo che non è male. Ma secondo me dovresti fare l´imaggini un po più grandi no?. Cosa ne pensi?.
Posso chiederti dove lavori?. Sei stato a lo IED?.
Buon lavoro Ragazzo. I render sono stati fatti in Mental ray?.
Saluti.
xbo :scream:

Hi!
Your tutorial is helping me on the way to my first car in 3ds max (I know it is for Maya but it works for max to). It's quite easy to follow and it have really helpt me with the making of sharp corners. I have had big problems making the wheels but I think I am getting there next thing to undrestand is how to do tires with patterns. I few questins:
1. Most parts are mirrored when do you leave that stage?
2. Can you recomend a tutorial for rendering/lightning and textures.
Thanx again!

i know i'm gonna sound like the total noob here, but where do i get the blueprints? the only ones i've found were all the views in one image file and i have no clue how to cut them up correctly (any ps tutorials?)
and once i have the files, how do i align them correctly in maya? calculating the aspect ratio of the images, creating equal planes and then aligning them via gridsnap would be my first idea, is that how you do it?
thanks!

I know this was alot of work. I was working on a model of this car in Lightwave with spline patching. The transition from the headlight indentations to the front bumper was giving me trouble. I'm looking foward to seeing someone elses way of going about it. Thankyou again.
