sounds to me as if you didn't create a collision object properly.

I did what you said, I made my character as a "colission object" and the cloth went down into nowhere, keep in mind that my character was made with poser and I exported him as a .3ds file, then I imported him into maya.

Right now its like 5am and im getting rather pissed lol.

but thanks. though im still stuck lol, what do I do exactly to make a shirt, you know any good tutorials?

yea..the manuals are pretty shitty when it comes to cloth. Probably it's your CP solver scale 9 times out of ten. Remember though..if your model is poor or you have intersecting geometery it's TS for you, you will have to fix your model or start over again.

see the problem is you imported it with the .3ds plug, see when you import a 3ds object to Maya it will not work with maya cloth.Something about the vertexs a messed up when importing a 3ds object, not sure if a obj would work but you might want to try that.

thanks allot guys, ill try those two methods consisting of converting my model from a 3ds into an obj, or I will try to simply start over again by making my model out of a cylander.

lol this is gonna be FUN.

I'm pretty sure you mean the verticles aren't welded? I usually have to always select all the verts of my imported mesh and weld them with small treshold to get them to work properly.

OK, I got 480 megs of ram now, but I still have a crappy vid card, but thank god im pretty decent at rendering. Anywayz, ill try that also, ill weld the verticies, thanks again.
