i have a body that rotates along with the feet iks so if u move the left foot foward the body rotates left. also the body has an expresssion to stay between the feet. however the problem is that with the expression i cant rotate the body manually, to say make the character turn while walking. i was wondering is there a way to turn expressions on and off; or any other way that can help

One piece of advice. Lose the expressions!! :scream: Please! The hips are one of the most important parts of the body to animate, the last thing you need is some silly expression controlling it.

Okay, now that I got that out. You can put a group node on top of the root control or joint and apply the expression to that. That will be the parent of your root control, so the expression will apply, then you can animate your root control under it. But like I said, please leave the expression, it's bad bad news :)

keyframe as much as posssible!

if you REALLY need to use an expression, make sure you have an attribute that can switch it on or off...or at least just lock it away. Expressions on hips are nasty...most animators would castrate you for that :eek:

Oh ya, BTW, expressions are the devil.
