View Full Version : Head Unit and Mouse
Hi Guys.
My first post. I'm still in the learning process. To post any of my work here is a scary thing for me :) Not because of the critiques, suggestions or comments.. I welcome them with open arms... But because of the high calibre of work that is expected in peoples postings around this place.
I'd like to say that most of you here are CG gods! You guys inspire me everyday to 'stick with it' and improve my skills.
Nuff of my ramblings...
Cheers to all for sharing your magic with all of us!

Well done on having the courage to post your work
Obviously, these objects are fairly low in detail, but you've done a good job of it :)
The textures on the VCR are a little too reflective ;)
Also, the text on the buttons and display is not very good quality - you might want to try using larger images for them (although this lack of quality could be due to the jpeg compression you've used in the image).
The mouse is cool! Try adding a teeny tiny bit of dirt to it though - no mouse is ever that clean hehehehe....
Maybe as your next task, you can tackle a VHS tape to go with the VCR?

Actually Leigh, (deffently one person i'm scared to correct ;) ) that's a stereo unit for a car, not a VCR :) (SORRY, dont hurt me too much texturing-goddess :D )
But back to the crits.... the mouse is great.... add some red lighting coming from the bottom, and like she said, add a little dirt (way to clean, looks like it just came from the box).
The head unit. The modeling is good, although i think the knob should stick out a bit more.... but also inprove the textures, and make the buttons and display light up a bit. Like, show some kinda clock or track numbers with the song timer.
Good work though

ALSO!
Add a cord to that mouse, or is it a wireless mouse?
Hehehe, no, its defintatley not a VCR. :)
Thanks for the comments guys/gals.. I really appreciate it.
The headunit for the car does need some drastic light changes done, Im aware of this... Unfortunatley for me, I yet to possess the skills to achieve the results im going for. Practice practice practice.. :)
Thanks for the compliments on the mouse, I too was very happy with the rendering results. It is not a cordless mouse, I just got lazy.. (Must abolish my laziness in the near future) As for the teeny tiny specs of dirt.. yup, good suggestion. I'll definatley give that a go.
Many thanks for having a look and commenting.
