View Full Version : Flex Curve
Bill_nuts 05-28-2004, 11:04 AM Anyone have any tips on how to get a flex curve stay with the model as its being moved by bones.
I have a character with a bone deform and flex on its tail, but as it walks, the curve stays behind.
The curve still animates the tail fine, but it would be nice to have the curve come along too.
Any ideas?
Bill.

If you've already drawn out your flex curve then use "Parent in Place" to parent the "Curve" to whatever bone you want the flex effect to move with. If it's the bicep bone, parent it to that bone.
If you haven't drawn out your spline curve, then parent the "Curve" effect to the bone in question before you add your flex curve points.
See Julez4001 step-by-step instructions on "Parent in Place" in the beginner's tip thread - you may want to enable "Keep Alignment" as well:

Thanks Gary.
Yeah parenting the curve to a bone works fine. So simple I slapped myself.
I was trying to parent it to the mesh, another parented null, etc,
Thanks again, now back to work.
Bill.
