Well, I know there are plenty of game engines for FPS games and role-playing games (eg. Havok, DNF, etc.); however, I cannot find any information on the engines that sports games use. Do companies design their own engines for their sports titles? Or is there a universal engine that most companies use while developing sports games?

Anyone that can help me or give some insight would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

I know Renderware is used in some sports games. I think Pro Evo uses it.

I think most engines for sports games are written in-house and re-used for all the yearly updates.

Thanks for the help. I did some searching on "Renderware" and did some reading about the products that they offer. I noticed that Sega/ESPN uses Renderware products for their sports games.
