Hey, time to de-lurk again.

Kinda a newbie question, but when doing cycles for game animation, do you animate the impact? I'm starting a punch cycle but don't know if I should animate like he's punching the air or hittingan object (opponent)-- w/ the body following through the punch, etc?

thanks for any info

Almost always, you should animate the the punch following through the opponent. It will look wierd if you have the punch stop too soon. Most of your animation is going to be the windup(anticipation) and the follow through so those poses have to look the best to have a good animation.
