I want to make a realistic sky with clouds that have the realistic qualities. People have tried to discourage me from trying but just wanted to see what the people think. How would i make these clouds? Is it to bigger task for me? i've been using max for almost two years.

Thanks for reading , any suggestions welcome

hmmmm intresting.

Without plugins like afterburn etc i dunno.

Maybe a mixture of geometry and particle systems.

Ive also tried this but to no great extent.

NO! THIS IS EASY!!!

Get Rob's Smoke shader, this is a GLORIOUS shader!!! I love it. As soon as this assignment is over, I'm going to play with it extensivly... I should PM and tell him I think, hehe.

heres a link to the thread to the shader.

I have used this for some dust and for my spaceship explosion, it gave me some pretty damn good results. I gave it a cloud test, worked quite well, not perfect but with a bit of tinkering and tankering I can see it giving some very nice results.

Hope this helps!!

Hi.

I have got crated this with Dreamscape 2.1 :

I think Dreamscape is best for clouds.
This clods are rendered with step of 70 , if you lower steps you will get more realistic shading .
