View Full Version : Shading
Duress 05-25-2004, 11:50 PM Hello!
I'm trying to make graphics for a game called Tibia.
It's all in 2D graphics and the max size on an item is 32x32.
I've made a simple sword, and I don't really know how to start shading it. Would be more than glad if anyone could help me by telling me what to use and how to use it. ;)

Hey there Duress
As its only a small 32x32 size sword i wouldn't go for anything flashy. Just keep it nice and simple, use the eyedropper tool on the main sword color and just make it a little bit darker, then draw a line almost down the middle of the sword just leaving no line at the top, u can always fade the line in abit from the top getting darker at the bottom to. Then ur sword is almost sliced in 2, then use the eyedropper tool again but this time pick a lighter colour than the main one and use the brush tool size x1 to fill in the right side of the sword.
Hope this helps
