View Full Version : Soft Body Collisions
Zongo 05-25-2004, 10:25 AM hi,
im trying to animate a collision between two softbodies (two layers of cloth) one is a long shirt, the other one a long coat. my problem is that the collision doesnt work (i used dynamics) and the coat always cuts into the shirt. can anyone tell me the settings neccessary to get a decent result (without calculating times shooting up)?
thanks!!!!!!!!!

In the Softbody tag, make sure you have the Collisin mode set to Full, or Full +Self.
Alos the Integration Method of your Solver object might come into play for the accuracy of the solution.
Make sure you have assigned a softbody spring tag ( Sorry if you now all this... just making sure( and that the springs are properly assigned, that collision is turned off, that the setup is correct ( all obj. under the Solver, etc..)

Also, have a check on the eps setting in the solver.

the normals of the meshes need to be facing each other also.
but frankly C4D's dynamics is severely limited in its ability to create
the kind of cloth simulation you are attempting:cry:

thanks to you all!!! the settings so far are the same i used, but:
@moka-j: what do you mean by "that collision is turned off"?
@anobrin: is there a better plug in or programme for cinema to do that?
thank you in advance!!

There is a thread on ClothFX, have a loo, though there is little info.
Maya Unl'.d has a Cloth Module, Xsi also ahs its cloth solution...
If you want to see a TOP cloth simulator,
