When I saw this topic I was wondering if your model is better than Pussik. I'm afraid that your GT is one of the worest GT's in the net. Sorry man, no offence. Take a look: WIP: PORSCHE GT 2004 (http://www.max3d.pl/forum/viewthread.php?tid=10413) This model is prepared by very young (and talented  ) polish girl!! It's just amazing, You should be shamed!!:hmm: Cheers

have to agree with vision3d on that...
lots of bugs, poor rendering, i don't like the paint either...
have a look at Pussik's version. basically no bugs at all. and to think it was made by a sixteen year old girl. WOW.
anyhow, just spend some time on tweaking and it should be fine.
cheers
Technically, vision 3d said it was the "worest", which is not a real word so don't be offended. I thought it was good.

oh well, sorry it didn't work for you... yeah, seems like her model is far better...
This is my first car anyway... Hope you will like my next one better... However, I will still improve this one =/

JTD, i guess everyone knows what it was supposed to mean.
and by the way, it's not about offending anyone. if some work is poor there's no point in proving it's great. if there are lots of bugs, i think it's much more harmful to say there are no bugs at all. constructive criticism is way better than mindless saying 'it's awesome man!'

Saying it's the "worest" on the net however, is not constructive criticism.
The model definately needs alot of improvement. A more focused look at existing pictures of the real life car will help you get a better shape, then you can focus on the details and the rendering. As of now the body itself doesn't look good enough to render etc.

I dont understand polish.. but it seemed to me that the girl had a lot of help making this model and construktive feedback. Honestly vision3D there is a posted some rules in the space above where you type your flames:
Before posting, please review the following:
Be courteous and polite. Show respect to the opinions and feelings of others. Use of the forums is a privilege, not a right.
People dont get better by getting told they suck. And for a first car model this guy deffinently dont suck it is quite good.
Vision3D i checked out your site and you clearly have alot of talent in this field.. please use it to help others. Ego's does'nt get far in this bizz

I gotta say the animation was kind of cool :)
But yes you need to improve that model there... get some blueprints if you don't have them already and make it as close as you can get it.
http://www.suurland.com has a bunch, so you might want to check there.
You'll get better... for a first try it isn't too shabby. My best advice would be to think of each part of the car as a seperate model and spend time on it to make it as perfect as you can... once you do that it should all come together for you ;)

hey, thanks a lot people, both for viewing and for your good words. I made this with splines, it's the first model to ever do with splines. And yeah, splines can be a pain in the arse! I know patch modelling is far better, but I will finish this one first with splines and then the next one will be with patches :)
As far as the Polish girl's work is concerned, yeah, it looks great, but nothing even close to this one:

that's what I'm trying to achieve... I still have problems doing the light materials properly... if someone could give me a piece of advice, that would be ace!
Thanks a lot... all the best :)
