Senior Character Designer
Wanted: Experienced Character Designer to join hot, growing, tight art team under good management, building Sports Games for the XBox. Must play hard and play well with others. At a deeper level, must be seeking a job and a group that enables you to grow personally and professionally as well as the chance to create some of the best games on the planet.
Core Job Responsibilities:
As the Character Designer, you are responsible for exploring a wide variety of character styles using your traditional drawing skills and taking those characters all the way to game-ready models. You are comfortable receiving and implementing direction and make good self-directed decisions in times of ambiguity. In creating original compelling character styles, you are able to draw from a variety of influences to give the widest range of choices and aesthetics. You are comfortable and competent translating outside concept drawings into fully realized 3D models. Your experience using major 3rd party software and modeling in a variety of formats such as Nurbs, Sub-Division Surfaces, and Polygons is essential. You have a clear understanding of how to create modeling content so that it dovetails smoothly with skeletal animation while maintaining its aesthetic quality. You make good decisions with grace under pressure. You seek and offer help readily. You enjoy being part of a team. You are skillful and seasoned enough to work across multiple projects. You gladly share your expertise by mentoring more junior modelers.
