Art Lead

The 3D Lead Artist will have a broad range of experience in character modeling and human anatomy and will be capable of developing 3D characters to the highest possible level of quality, with both realistic subjects and caricatures. Work will include both high-end presentation and real-time low resolution game models. Most work will be done working in tandem with external first party development teams.

Core Job Responsibilities:
* Building 3D models, mostly of characters, to exacting standards.
* Incorporating bones/skeletal structure and inverse kinematics as needed for animation.
* Character design as needed.
* Texture work, as needed, for said characters.
* Develop pre-production and production visual design, as needed.
* Work closely with the programming team(s) on implementing models effectively into the game environment.
* Supervise other 3D Artists, both internally and externally, as needed.
* Simultaneously oversee multiple projects from the character design level.
* Supervise external contract relationships, as needed.
* Work closely with the Design team to help establish the visual strategy for the project.
* Bring innovative and creative ideas to the group both visually and technically.

Travel will be required at times.

Recommended Qualifications:
* A minimum of five years professional experience in 3D Art.
* Must be highly proficient in either 3D Studio Max or Maya and have knowledge of other 3D packages and/or high end tools.
* Strong visual design sense with an emphasis on posing, staging, and lighting.
* Portfolio/demo reel required.
* Experience in actual game development preferred but not required - a willingness to learn the game development process is required.
* Broad knowledge of traditional mediums and 2D computer art.
* Strong problem solving and excellent communications skills.
* Experience working with development teams finding solutions for technology issues a plus.
