View Full Version : light probe image
Willax 05-22-2004, 01:25 AM I've got a scene in which I use an image as a light probe image in the background window under the add environment tab. It creates very nice lighting for my objects (wedding rings). However I want the background to be black to be used as an alpha mask in compositing. The image that I use for the light probe, shows up in the background. Nothing in the help files or manual (7.5) as far as this situation. Any know how I can get the light probe reflections on the rings and not have it show in the background?

Load a black image and apply it as the background image.
Hey Larry,
I used to load up a flat poly, texture it black, make it unseen by everything but the camera, place it behind my object, scale to fill background, etc, just to do what you were doing in one easy step...
You just saved me some time bud,
Thanks!

Thanks Larry. That's what I did. It works like a charm.

I always keep a black and a white bmp in my hdri resource folder (saves making one up each time) and load it into the background in the composoting tab.
