View Full Version : UV's and Vertices snapping?
dragonswhip 05-21-2004, 02:27 PM OK, I am still learning Max but have been using Maya for a very long time.
The problem I am having is if you have a selection of vertices as well as UV's is there a way to snap them to a straight line.
In maya you would select the vertices and UV's and press on X key with the move tool, it will snap to a straight line to the direction you are moving it to. Rather than selection each points individually and placing it to where you want it.
Thanks all.

yeah i found this a problem when moving from Maya to Max. My work around is to select the cvs and use the transform type in to scale to 0 in your required axis then just move them to the position you want. For UVs i use unwrapTools by steve johnson this has a number of helpful tools for aligning your uvs. I think you will be able to find it at www.scriptspot.com.
Although i would be very greatful if anyone could point me at a more efficient way.
Hey there !
There is a set of scripts to help you out do this sort of thing (align, space along u or v, flip..), it's called unwrap tools i think, look for it over at scriptspot (http://www.scriptspot.com).

There's also one that does the same for verts called 'vertex placer' (I think) by Blur Studios (again, I think). It allows a bunch of verts to be aligned together in x,y, or z or all snapped to the grid etc. Probably also available on scriptspot.
