I am new to these forums but I have seen some amazing work and I am very impressed. I have downloaded a trail of maya because I wanted to see what using a professional graphics tool is like. Needless to say I was a bit overwhelmed. I looked at many tutorials and also looked at maya related books. Im sure a few people will tell me to start out with a free, simple modeling program, but for now I would like to learn as much about maya as possible. I always seem to hit a snag with tutorials and I cant remember the pure "this does this" facts in many books. Is there any book that would be good for a beginner like me that explains how things work in a simple way instead of just saying "do this, then do this"?
