I am getting into 3ds max and am having a great go at it intill the other night when I was rendering something that I knew was going to take a while, so I left the my puter on alnight to handle the job. When I woke up my system had froze do to the frying of my motherboard. I know my system isn't the hottest in the world but someone please tell me it isn't a common thing to happen...

Also a very ameture question on renderings. Do most people render small amount of scenes/objects and then put them together with video editing software or what.....(example: An intro with a moving lights on a title to a cityscape that a camera is taking a cruise through.) And if so what is a good one to use?

Thnx

as well as I know, max render doesnt supose to freeze your computer, allthought this happened to me a couple of times when using max. I think it got something to do with your graphic card, or motherboard.
or maybe your memory cards.

I usually render diffrent parts of mt scence and then composite them in after effects. so i can do color changes on diffrent layers of the render.

hope that helped
