Looks pretty funny... bbuutttt..... you REALLY need to think about connecting the bottom of the chin to the throat. I know its a cartoon but .. even a cartoon needs to make some sense
Good job overall

thats good stuff man. freaking funny:beer:
That's a funny character !! :)
Maybe the Tong and lips texture are too "real" for a cartoon character...
But anyway, well done.

SWEET job man, im a huge fan of cg toony stuff and that looks really good. You pulled off the fur really well. I have alot of trouble with the maya fur. is your model poly's or nurbs??
I find the fur horrible with poly's.
yeah i agree about the chin, but unless that is a take of him looking down the barrel of a gun, then who cares if his jaw drops..heheh
GREAT JOB!
I would like to see a wireframe pleeeez
later.

Great the fur looks very nice, the only thing I could say besides the chin issue, is that the lips seem strange, they´re too real, I dont know theres something I cant describe precisely.....
But VERY NICE WORK !!!

Looks good. But one thing I noticed is that it has fur where the nostrils should be. I dont know if different species of deer have fur on their nostrils but I know that the ones I have seen have no fur covering their nostrils.

thanks for all comments! :)
Rudity: :wavey:
my model is poly's, have alot of trouble with maya fur too, adjust fur's density, growth direction....for long time. finally, adjust poly's uv, unify uv's direction.
sorry :) my english is not good, hope you understanding :)

Ahh well i usually do it by capture screen shot of wireframe, paste. Capture screen of solid.. paste. THEn combine the 2 into 1 picture and erase parts of 1 layer. I was just thinking of any OTHER kool way of doing it.. like with actual 3d software. I need to figure out how to make that effect in Movies.
Thats a cool dear... now Make him talk! :scream:

I love it, :buttrock:
Wow, the realism from the hair and Lips mixed with the cartoony nature of the subject give it an almost scary feel.
similar to the feeling I get looking at a stuffed animal.

alan i think i got some tips for animating fur.. My first tip would be not too.. but my second tip would be this..
Ok you make an attractor from a selected uv (or surface point)... have softbodies control the curve for the attractor spline majooy..heheh
yeah i put together a little playblast for yeah showing the attractor at work..
you can paint the attractor weights, noise..lalaldedeeedeee etc etc.. but attractors are the way to go... you could do all sorts of things.. even keyframe them by hand like i did.. but the best way is using soft bodies effected by gravity thus effecting the attractor..
if you need help with this reply again and ill post how to do that.. cause right now i forgot..
heres the simple keyframed attactor animation.

btw you did really good with the fur, especilly since its POLY'S ..
great job man.

You can render out two passes with identical camera moves, one in wireframe and one full surfaced, then use a gradient edged mask in a compositor to make your switch from one to the other.
