Feels more like a pose test at this point than finished work, but a good start nonetheless. When Leo does the kick, he just snaps from pose to pose. When he spins and kicks with his left leg, there should be some sort of transfer of energy and weight to his right leg. During the kick, his right leg should bend more and take his weight, which I'm sure is substantial. I'm liking the bricks falling, and camera moves, although I'd probably keep the camera on Leo for longer, and pan over to the wall being busted open at the last second.
Good stuff!

I would work on the punching movements as well. When you throw a punch, there's a whole lot more than just your arm moving forward. The shoulders would roll, the hips swing. Even when a martial artist is just training (punching air) they still put force into it. To me, it feels like Leo is kind of not putting all his effort into his moves

Thanks Brent Turbo and Afgncaap for your comments!
The more I look at it I see what you two are conveying to me (about them being poses) and not expressive enough.
I think part of my problem was, I tried to control the flex/bend of the shell in the back because of the way it was rigged (yes... was). I did change the bone rig for the shell in the back so I don't freak out for it bending funny (since it doesn't anymore now).
I am having mucho problems as I go through redoing the animation from scratch, but I'll have something up in a week (I hope).
Afgncaap, LOL I have to give it to ya! I was acting out these moves and watching some clips to help me out, but I would say more of that influence was me "thinking" about the poses, motions, and movements vs the true action/reaction or flowthrough (you know, build up and release). There would be moments where I did this, but I guess it was too subtle.
On another note, I'll be tweaking the transition better. The rats will be better spaced through the scene. I do feel that it's one scene and it pauses and goes to another scene.
Again... Thank you both,

Hey, hey. I didn't even notice your new thread! Looks really good! I like how you put it all together. Nice lighting, too!
Nothing really to crit about it. It all looks good to me.
Always like it when animation is posted. There's something very satisfying about creating animation with something that you modeled, textured, rigged, and lit. It's like reaching the top of a tall mountain, once you get to animation, it really feels like your creations are alive! You know what I mean?

Podman, I just came back with hanging out with my neighbor (that means he had a date that didn't go to well, so we went to the local pub! LO)L). I have to laugh at you sarcasm! I read your comments and then I saw you links to your latest work. I was totally rolling at "my crap" and "more of my crap." That sounds like something I would do! LMAO!
I completely agree with what you wrote, and I'm actually changing stuff to my anicmation. It pretty much what was said before. The I've got lots of timing issues with leo that are soon to be uploaded to you and everyone else to see. Thanks again for looking. How did your project go with your class?

hehe. Sorry to hear about your friend. I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles. Look forward to the latest animation. I'm enjoying it so far.
Oh, my teacher gave me an A for my final grade, so it went well.

Podman,
I want to clarify my comment about your what you labeled your projects. I was just laughing at how you called it crap. I just thought it was great because I'm usually telling people to check out my crap too, but on the list here I think it's even better (on the humor level). Of course when I do tell friends and other close artists, it usually goes into my usually poopy joke banter! :D Either way I read my comment earlier this morning and I just wanted to make sure I didn't step on your toes or anything because that's never my intent. It didn't look like I offended you, but just in case I had to explain.
With all that aside, I'm glad to hear you got an A on your project! Drop me pm when your next project hits. I'd like to peek at it. Mucho congrats dood!

Hey, none taken, my friend. I find that some people on this forum take themselves way too seriously. I really am looking forward to more of your TMNT short. I like how you linked your two scenes together. It's coming out really nice. What's the next scene gonna be? Are the turtles gonna kick the mouser's butts?
I downloaded the messiah animate demo btw and it was pretty cool, although I haven't been using it cause my school has KAYDARA MOTION BUILDER PRO so I've been learning that one. It's almost the same type of app. What's cool about Messiah/Motionbuilder is that you get real-time feedback on the animation. No need to preview the thing to test movement. It really speeds up the workflow.
