Hi folks and cloth experts,

Since you can paint the attributes to cloth in Maya 6
i was wondering, how to paint lets say the stretch resistance.

If I have for example a piece of cloth that I want to be very stiff at the top border and very loose and elastic at the lower border.

When I paint, I can only paint values between 0 and 1, right?
If I want the top of the cloth to have a resistance val of 5 and the bottom to have a value of 15, how could I do this?

Any ideas, or somebody who has tested the stuff I mentioned?

Hi, I don't know for sure now, but I think the paint attributes works as a multipier on the actual attributes in your cloth properties. So for example you set the stretch attributes in your cloth properties to 15. Paint with a value of 0.33 where you want the stiffness to be 15 and with a value of 1 where you want it to be 15.
