The whole scene looks a bit dull and flat. The modeling looks pretty good but the lighting needs a lot of help.

hhmm look like default lighting to me.

add lights to the scene and shadows, it will improve ALOT!

Find a more evocative angle. What happens if you use the gate as a type of bars. look THrough the gate. all of a sudden, you've gone from "farm gate still life" to making a statement about rural life. etc.
