i got a p4 1.3, and 256 ram. if ill upgrade the ram would it give a huge diffrence in render time or just 3 seconds?

Depends...
If the ram you presently have is crappy PC133 ram, you will notice no difference in render times.
Youre in a bad situation to upgrade. You would be better off getting a better video card. But I would suggest saving up and selling the board and cpu and memory you have and upgrade to a Northwood P4 (1.8 and up) with a Rambus board and PC800 memory.
Even a P4 with a DDR board would help out alot.
If none of this makes sense www.tomshardware.com should be a daily read for you.
