PS the good ones are done by Carsten, based on my characters and my design, he just draws good

The crappy ones are mine. If anyone wants to take a lick I'd love to see it done. Oh also I was wondering if Teyon wouldn't mind me posting his old school version of Flog

We collabed back in the day.

Flog, I like Kalimar but how old is he supposed to be? In one image he's like...15 and in another he's in his mid 20's. Give me a clear shot of him from the side front and back and we'll be on ou way.

Hey Teyon, welcome back!!!

The pictures of Kalimar simply show him at differant ages. In the story he starts out at around 15, and it follows him through his life course. I'll get you some pictures of young Kalimar. Thats when he is more akward.

Cool!!! I'm seeing a lot of great entries. I wonder who will win this cool Maquette.

I can't wait to see someones Maquette in 3d.

I'll get you those pics..

wow mine has dropped to the bottom. I've completed the drawings for Kalimar, Teyon.

I have a side and back view. I also hope these pages will help you. I still have to get the model sheet modelled but I did an earlier comic of him with a friend of mine. We are pushing this to Image, Dark Horse, etc.

The punch scene really shows his body type, but there are various angles you can see. He is around 15 years old, and he is a late bloomer.

I think Carsten captured the feel perfectly in his rendition, he truly is a genious , he's to color what you are to modelling. LOL.

Its also roughly based on this style

I'm going to Poserize this too, you know I was thinking if it doesn't win I'll just save up to get us a copy of it done, a maquette. I found another company who will make it into an action figure instead for a real cheap price as well. This would be cool

Its looking great, can't wait to see the detail.

Hey, glad you like it so far. It's a little late to be asking this now I guess because I've already attached them to the head but uh....his horn things...they point back or they point foward? You drew them pointing back in the images for me to model from but most of the images I see have them foward. Just thought I'd mention that.

Also, don't expect a lot of anatomy detail. The images you provided as style comparisons were very simplified designs and I went into this character with the same mindset. You'll see his chest and an impression of his ribcage but that's about it. No abs or super detailing on the back or any of the other anatomy thing syou know me for, Shawn. :(

No the character is perfect The one in the comic is slightly differant and more of Carsten style. Actually I meant to talk to him about it(the horns), but it looked so darn good, I descided to leave it be, cause it worked.

You did get the horns just right.

As far as detail goes that again is perfect. It is a simplified character. Abs and stuff would overdo it, especially since he is pre adulthood.

So you got it exactly right, simple and beautiful, and the horns are how I meant them to look!!! You went in with the right mindset and captured it perfectly. Great work as usual!!!

How was your trip? Denmark right? I just read some of your posts and how you have been gone and such.

Well talk to you later, I can't wait to see more!!! So far so good!!

Bill uses Rhino for his CNC work at BNT. Makes most of his models in there and then takes them to his company to mill. He's a nice guy. I think both BNT and 3DArtToPart are great resources for modelers looking to get stuff made in the real world. :) Update within the next 24hrs. Keep tem eyes peeled.

Flog, Denmark was nice. I did some Rhino teaching over at LEGOLAND in Billund. Nice folks the gang at LEGO. Treated me like a king.

Oh no the comic is by me but drawn and colored by Carsten Bradley. He's the genious artist. I draw a bunch of sketch crap. See above.

Carsten is the man

Just have his ears to do now I think....

Flog

thats great!!!

I always love your work. Ears would finish him up a bit.

The top arm I think should be a little shorter, and the bottom part a little thicker, or at least the cast or forearm part is a little thicker, heavier bandages.

Other than that, its wonderful.

How do you do it? I still can't wait to see what you do when you get your hands on Zbrush. I hope you do get it, its a great program!! It will definately speed up your work and give you that perfect feel!!

I made a few mods if you think its cool to make please do, if not, I still think this model is the best!!

Hey Teyon, you didn't tell me you finished. Hehehe I noticed Kalimar done in the contest.

Wow!!!

For the contest sake though there are a lot of great entries. The dog is probably going to win. But hey I love Kalimar.

Thanks.

Do you think you can send me the obj file?

sarms@austin.rr.com

Hey I was wondering if you'd like to start a "Poser" store. A little market like Sixus1.com.

Let me know, it could mean some side cash for us both.
