Hey, looks pretty good so far, but all I would fix is the smallness of the knee area, and maybe some areas are too squared. Theres not too much to comment on right now this early in the modeling process but ill keep checking on it.
keep going! ;)

Definately seems a little square at the top. The progress is looking good though. I would definately narrow that gap bettween the legs. Though that could be just because you are working with half a model. always kinda hard to tell how it'll look once you merge two halves.
Are you working off reference? It's one thing that no modeler, especially a beginner, can go without. I would recomend you sketch out some sort of concept as well as grab Photo and anatomy reference. It won't only help you with this model but you can probably apply it to anything else you build. I know I always keep my anatomy books handy.
I am wondering, what sort of model are you going for? Realistic? cartoony? Stylized? have any concept sketches you can show.... It's one thing to kinda guess what you are aiming for and offering crits to push you towards what may or may not be your goal... It's another to look at a picture of what you want and say, "the knees are too low" or something like that...
Anyway, keep going!

I think you should post some concepts of what you want it to look like when it is done. That will help you to work it out in your head better, so the next time you go on the computer you will know what you are aiming for, and what parts you will need to focus on.
