View Full Version : Scattering instances of an object around a cylinder
I'm not sure how to explain this problem, but I have a cylinder that needs to have hundreds of small rocks attatched to it. Without using particles, is there anyway to do this, and have a non uniform look, without applying each object by hand to the cylinder? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I need to figure out how to do this quick!

Hey there,
i'd say you could use the Scatter tool, that "randomly scatters the selected source object either as an array, or over the surface of a distribution object" (taken from help file), or maybe a simple array but you won't get as much randomness.

hey thanks mouj, for some reaon i didnt even think to look up scatter in the help file. i wasnt sure if that was the right word
