i think that your animation is better than modeling and texturing. interesting idea though and nice blindness effect :applause: (toon mode?). If i like sad stories, I would say i love it ;)

ahahah the noise when the guy hit the dog is so funny ,

AWESOME WORK!
Great job Antonio. I hope all is well in Italy
Best of luck to you!
Keep in touch!
-F1Racer: Thanks to be the first to reply! I hated that dog, he gave me so many problems! But he is cute..
-miloszwl: Thanks. You are right, I didn't have enough time (6months+2) to spend on texture and on modeling details. The blind effect is postprocessing. The story came from my experience, I teached a blind boy how to play piano.
-3d43naveen: Thanks Naveen. Remeber Monza is on September and you are more then welcome...
-KWAK: Thanks Kolby. I hope I can animate one of your awesome models someday..
-3d43lea: Thanks Lea! The original Italian espresso is waiting for you here in Italy! You are a great cg artist as well and your beautiful smile makes happy everyone is around you. Keep in touch ok?
-BartokDesign: The sound is not the final one. I recorded it just as reference (the background voices are chinese....). Hopefully the final version is gonna be better. Thanks for the thumb up!
-mgard: Ho how can I say... u just need to practice and practice as I told u.. ;) Thanks for your invaluable help during all vfs period and for your invaluable friendship. You are an awesome person.
-3d43Jesse: Thanks Jesse. Congratulation for the new job! You will be a cool, great teacher! The new vfs generations are so lucky! All the best.
Thank also to everyone had the patience to download and watch my reel, I hope you enjoyed it.
KEEP GIVE ME FEEDBACKS AND COMMENTS PLEASE!

Scusa il ritardo.. Questa storia ha una buona timeline. Funziona tutto eccetto la modellazione.. Devi aver avuto molta fretta..

Hi Antonio,
You are such an italian stallion heh, :p
I really enjoyed your reel, and your story is very beautiful! But I didn't know the idea came from how you teached a blind boy how to play the piano, that's really beautiful!
Hope you're having fun in Italy!

Antonio,
Hello from Canada :wavey: I'm sure you have become a human being again, now that you are free from the dungeon!
Your reel turned out great - the way he hits the dog now is hilarious - I love it. And the way you distorted how he hears the world is a very interesting effect. We really get a feel for how he perceives the world. So cool!
I just wanna say you are an amazing person, and it was a great pleasure working next to you. You helped me out so much, and I really appreciate that. Thank you. Those were some good times, painful....but really good times!
So good luck in the future, I know you will be happy with whatever you do. Hopefully our paths will cross again someday - who knows, maybe the Blue Bonnets will re-unite and do a north american tour!

Wow great work!
Great shader on the glass in the entrance door, There seemed to be a slight double relection there, was there two thicknesses of glass in that door? The timing in the hand movements was quit impressive as well. Being a piano player myself, I noticed that the individual finger movements where a little crisp, but the hand movements looked excellent.
U inspired my next experiment,

-Elvis75k: In effetti avrei dovuto curare più i dettagli ma ho cercato di trovare una via di mezzo tra modellazione, texturing, ligthing e animazione (oltre alla musica) rispettando i tempi (6 mesi). Grazie per il thumb up!
-BartokDesign: we will see if the final sounds effects are gonna be better (hopefully..)
-3d43lea: Hi Lea!! Thanks a lot, you are a real smile maker! Keep up the fun!
-Flud's Keeper: Thanks a lot my friend. I'll never forget those painfull..wonderfull days. I hope your dreams came true and we can meet somewhere in the East Europe.. ;) Let me know about your job.
-Andre P: Thanks a lot Andre. The glass on the door is not flat that's why the incidence change when the camera move. To model, rig, weight and animate hands is really difficult. I used a special rig to animate the hands on the piano that helped me a lot but it's still not perfect...
-ngarte: Thanks Adrian. It was an amazing experience to me as well and I feel so lucky to have founded a fantastic friend as you. I miss our starbucks espressos a lot. I cannot wait to drink a real italian espresso here in Italy together. . All the best my friend.
Thanks to everybody and keep send me feedbacks!
Antonio.

Really nice work man. Your animation was really fluid. I felt like your storytelling was flowing really good too. The blindness thing was kind of strange especially with the echoed sound on that one p.o.v. shot, but it works great with the rest of the shots.

Hi like the clip, nice simple story, animation etc. One thing I noticed though. When you get the blind man's pov the sounds go muffled.
Blind people have to rely mostly on sounds and because of that their hearing is normally well trained and much better than that of people with good vision.
So in your animation I would expect the reverse of what you have produced. I would expect the sound to be richer and clearer when looking through the blind man's eyes, not muffled.
- danielkenobi: Thanks a lot! Vfs is an amazing school, but the quality of the demo reels really depends on the talent and the effort of the single student. Work hard is the only way to make a good demo reel, the school is just a support. I was a very old student... I'm 37, but I look and I feel younger ;)
- Keiyentai: Thanks a lot man! I really think that the most important thing in a short movie is still the story and what we want to say. That's way we call us CG "artists"..
-Bluebird2602: Thanks man! The sound effects are not the final ones. I was trying to show how different blind people "feel" the world. They feel the world through the sounds so that they use the sounds, and the music, to "see" and "feel" what we see and feel through the eyes.
-UnlikelyCorny: Thanks Corny! We watch the story from a "not blind" pov so we can hear all the sounds in a "normal" way. We don't really know how blind people hear the sounds, all we know is that they hear and feel sounds in a "different" way that's why I modified the sound for the blind's pov.
Thanks to everybody and keep send me feedbacks!

well you have yourself a little personal master piece there! The animation is very impressive! The only comment I can say, and it was said B4, was the texturing. But lucky for you, this can always be reworked. Congrats on this, you shouldbe proud of yourself!

Really good job there.. Very well animated, Who plays that classical piano music can you tell me the artist?
-lestdog: Thanks a lot! I don't know if I have enough strenght to fix the textures now.. I know I had to, but I spent most of the time on the animation.
-droopdog: thanks a lot! I used a lot of cpus to render all the reflections on the glass, I remember one night I was rendering on 30 computers each one with dual xeon!!! The other students called me "the virus"..
-Ujin: thanks my special friend. You know I think you are an amazing 3d/scupltor ( in your case it sounds better then ..modeler) a real 3d artist. Just feel confident with your amazing talent. I feel very lucky to have a friend like you. Keep in touch!!!!!!!!
-snmz: Thanks a lot!
-achtung007: Thanks man!
-Nuclear: Thanks! I'm a pianist too so I composed and played the music. Tell me if you like it!
Thanks to everybody and keep send me feedbacks!
