"Good day to you, sir. I recieved a bit of information I thought you might enjoy. A friend of mine works as an intern at HBO and has informed me that a fully animated Dark Tower series is in the pitch stage. She also mentioned the name Genndy Tartakovsky of Dexters Lab And Samurai Jack fame. After I changed my underoos, I grilled her for more info. She went on to descibe some storyboards that could only be the massacre in the town of Tull. More underoos soiled.

I am a skeptic at heart, but she described this scene to a tee. Now this girls idea of a good read is the back if her cereal box, so i tend to believe she saw this rather than read it.

Considering the source, please take with a grain of salt.

If King did turn over the rights to a film maker I'm sure it would turn out okay. However, I'm doubting he will do that any time soon. This is his lifes work after all.

Cool. I am re-reading those books now. I always thought this would make a great movie (or series of movies). That was back when King still only had three of the books done with no end in sight.
Apparently they are finished and the final two books will be released later this year. Here's hoping anyway.
I never imagined it as a cartoon but that could be a very cool twist. And I really like what Gendy has done with his first two projects. I'd be confident that he would do an excellent job.
Keeping my fingers crossed that this turns into more than rumours and wishful thinking.

It would be interesting to see a stephen king book in animation form, especially Genndy Tartakovsky's style of animation.
