View Full Version : pickone - interface
Virusescu 07-16-2002, 10:30 AM I've been developing a layout of a site for the company I work for.
This is the frontpage of the site...
I'd realy apreciate some feedback for the flash section of the site, but there is a one itsy-bitsy problem... the site has no english version... but on the other hand it loads really fast.
Anyway the crits and comments I'm hopeing for would be related with the layout and graphics... not with the written context.
a...almost forgot.... the site is located here (http://www.rpdesign.ro)
...and the front picture

The guy on the front page is rendered in 3DMAX.
Poser 4 is guilty for the mesh... I only modeled the pose of the caracter.
Even this is a 3d character ... I posted this here because I want more C&C about the site... that would be 2D(flash) :wavey:
Anyway... hope you like it

Is that guy supposed to scare your clients away? Don't feel very welcome there...

 not too scary I hope...
I don't know why it loads slow... the flash site has only 98Kbs...
so... i don't really know the problem. The html site on the other hand is realy heavy and not optimized, but i did only the flash version.
Thanks for the first impresion Joroentje

Hey, I really like the site layout and feel to it.
A few things -
first the background could be sharper, to go with the rest of the site. It looks like it was handdrawn (probably was) and the rest of the site was flash, so it's very sharp and hard edges.
Second the loading bugged me. It was an awsome loading screen and percentage loader. Just on the right side the outside 'pieces' weren't forming a box, like the left side. Like there imaging there is a box around all the pieces and the outer ones lie and that box line. Nothing to big though.
And finally it's a little hard to read the content other than the Clienti. The other ones don't have a strong enough backdrop to make it stand out from the binary code floating in the background. Just increase the opacity by about 10% or so, I would say.Speaking of the binary code, I wish it would reflect as well, since everything else does.
BUt all in all great site:thumbsup:
Yea it looks like I'm gonna get my ass kicked if i go in his site... so i will just pass it up for now.
Are you going for a Duke Nukem feel? haha

hey... thanks guys... your crits&comments are really welcome
Blake Kehler: I guess I was too lazy to make the binary code reflect... I thought it would pass unnoticed... but i know now i need to change it. I'll work with the oppacity too.
Thanks again.
Neil: I guess Duke Nukem isn't joining the party right now... maybe another time:cool:

With the first post, if it is going to be a business that does html and flash web design, I'd make sure you are portraying the image you want for an actual business. If you are only wanting to do in your face gaming websites and the like then stick with it, but if you want professional clientel I would ditch the macho guy and go with something a little more conservative. Not sure what direction you are heading. I check the site and only the main page works for me.
