How do the creators of movies make explosions in the scene? I know how to make explosions with max 6 but how do they make it look like it is exploding behind a person?

The reason I ask is because I would like to make a small video of myself not getting caught in an explsion but the explosion behind me and me falling down by the blast.

If the explosion has no other visible effect
than a fireball just composite edit a picture
of a fireball into the video you've already
shot.
