Started modeling at last. Didn't have much time so I made only the leg, but it's a start, the rest of it comming up soon.

P.S. Strange that there are 99 entries and no comment, should I think that evrything is alright? I don't think so.

Yo crash, good to see you've started on the mesh and stuff. One suggestion I'd have is to post a wider angle shot of the modeling you've done so far. Right now it's so tight in that I can't really make out what that pic is. I'm guessing it's an arm at the elbow? Just try to keep the shots wider to start so people can see the overall effect. then once you have the whole beast modeled and are working just on the details you can get closer. by them people should understand easier what it is that your showing them.

Sorry if I sounded like a jerk with this. I'm just trying to help. :D

hehe no prob mate, but if ya looked closer you would see that I wrote "Didn't have much time so I made only the leg" which means it's in the rear of the creature. The arms are in front, and i did the wire for 1 leg only so I think recognizing which part is it shouldn't be hard. But I'm not feeling ofendet [dunno how to write that :p ], I stand corected. THX for the advice :) .

Hehe, so I se my thread is overflooded with comments :p , I ain't surprised it's not very cool, but I'm trying my best, after all it's my first character model. Here's a little update, I think that I've made a little progress and the paw is slightly better than the rest :) .

As for the but, you just have to slap them wrinkles right out of it (like i did to your grandmas last night  ) joking. Add a tail and you wont have to worry about the but. You shouldnt be ashamed of your sketch, mine is worse.

I shall remove them wrinkles :p . A tail you say? Not a bad idea, I'll make two just to make sure :) . And I think I'll enlarge the back area to boost the monsta proportions, do you think that's a good idea?

The paw for the rear legs. Added one finger.

Very nice. I like the wrinkles and muscles.

The butt thing reminds me of something:
Iit's funny the way people react to things. I was working very solidly on a dog model the other day, concentrating on the backside because the skinning wasn't working for me, and everyone found it extremely amusing that I was looking at a dogs behind for most of the day.

It was even worse when I said I was boning the dog and getting it ready for skinning. The double-entendre didn't even occur to me until they laughed.
Maybe I should say "rigging" in future. :hmm:

Keep it up Crash! Great work! :bounce:

Hey crash, for the butt the main thing I'd recoment is smoothing everything out a bit back there. If you think about the way his back legs are you'd see that that part of the skin is probably pretty tight. So you really wouldn't get any real wrinkles or creases back there.
As for the paw: that's looking really good. No crits there.

OK going for the head, I know that my work is a bit chaotic coz I didn't finished the body yet and I'm already making a head but I like it that way. As you see the head is a bit fat so I decided to change the mass and the proportions of the body to fit this head coz I like it, so the monsta is going to be a bit fat :p .

the head is going to be cool! i am not sure about the teeth: is it intention that the teeth in his upper row are partially outside his mouth?
i am curious about how is butt developed :D

Update on the body. Added the paws, fixed the "grandma butt" problem :p, prepering neck to connect the head. Drop some useful comments plizzz, coz I really need them on my first character.

Stange: the teeth were ment to be partial outside along with the flesh holding them, I picked that one up playing warcraft 3 thare's a demon called mannoroth and he's got such teeth, scary as hell, :p I liked it so I decided to make something similar. :)

nice work crash, i definetly see a good character forming out of your model, heres some crits: im sure your still detailing everything but just to make sure, you need to add a littl emore detail around the eyes(like wrinkles, a more defined socket, etc), the nose needs to be defined, and lips could be developed to make that awsome mouth even better, especailly the upper lip. and the feet, you got a lot of repitition on the toes, tweek the toes so they dont look like clones of each other(the lengths, and maybe a little angle). your got a lot of talent and your model is really coomming together i just wanted to help a bit just in case:) keep it up cuz i want to see that the final model!!

Hello Crash, saw a word from you from Mandrake's thread, and decided to have a look.

Pretty nice model, but could you post a wire shot ? I saw your first body wire and seemed heavy mesh already !
Nice job btw.

Hey Crash! You are not a begginer! Begginers can not model
like that! Couple ot things are on my mind:
-make those hands different, especially on the legs, they
look copied now
-thethumbs on the front legs seems too long and on the
wrong side :p I think it might look better if you put them on
the other side
-the same with those upper hands :) you can turn them
facing upward and put some heavy loads on it ( just an idea);)

as Facial said it would be nice to see the wire. keep updated!

It looks really cool so far, except i would probably make the outer toes a bit short and the inner one long to break the copied look, also try to add some variation to the toes. I dont know why but the abdoman area looks strange to me  But besides that great work, especially on the arm muscles :applause:

Big THX for the commentsd guys, I won't make it until the deadline but I'll fix most of those things. Especially the fingers. As for the upper arwms, they're suposed to pull a rope attached to the contraption, so no oheavy loads on the top :p .

hey man thanks for droping me a line at my end I was starting to feel lonely. Eny ways I like what you have going on. at first the head looked odd but it must have been the angle the jaw and teath are looking very strong now. keep working hard and it will pay of.

I would love to see some wire frame.MY beast of Burdan (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14488)
