I am putitng this one out here for those TP genius types. Iam wondering how feasible this sort of thing is.

I was wondering in the first case if TP could be used as a boolean object so that the particles that were emited could be subtracted from another object. I got particles to bool through and object with the old particle system. But the particles would just pass through the object without leaving a memory of the boolean operation. It sounds crazy but I was wondering id=f anyne had done anything like this and retatined the boolean memory?

and while we are n the subject of memeory is there a way that proximal can be written to a texture?

these questions and many others..

1) Tp can be used in bolean, just put the particle geometry object in there

2) To leave the bolean hole just make sure you're emiting particles from your other particles, and that they're being emited at 0 speed. this will give the same effect that your'e after i believe.

3) use baker (inbuilt to 8.5) to bake the proximal. if you mean to leave a trail then the same question was asked on bhodinut forum and teh same reply as above. emit aprtciles at 0 speed from the original particle. using shot, 1 per frame.

Cool I will try thast out today. I wanted to make something lke acid eating away at a surface. now to figure out how to control the depth of the particles..

Try using proximal too. then as each particle hits the surface it affects it, use displacement, luminance etc.
