I am trying to make some vines (using LW8). I am using rail extrude an it worked fine for the almost straight strands (ie the hair) but for more the more complex pieces it thins out on the corners.

Here is an example:

As you can see the bottom corners of the vines on the back are squished :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have alot more to make before I am done.

I think this is caused by a typical z-up problem with extrusions along curves (basically caused by a lack of normalization because rail extrudes tend to work on input geometry that has no clear dimensionality, like the rail cuve.) This problem can occur regardless of what package you're using.
