Your Polygon distribution puzzles me, the arms and legs are really low poly but you seem to have wasted a bunch on the torso that could be cut out and still achieve the same look. I gave an example, plus some of your cuts could be connected to other verts to help clean up the mesh. So far it's an alright start.

The start's there, I Argee on the cuts you should clean those up.
One other thing, doest the suit have a neck?
It look kinda cramped in there.
it would be cool to add (even if it was small) some neck parts, if you where to rigg it, you could get some problems there...

the hips look squashed. you should study some anatomy to see how high the hip bone really is. His whole groin area looks like it needs to be longer in the up-axis.

Knowing that it is a robot model... You should model it in different parts (and that will be really better for animation). It will help you to get rid of mesh problem you have between body parts for now. And will help you to shpae your model too :)
