Can use it just to block in and turn it off and control the hips yourself for the refining passes? Does it drop keys for you when you have auto key on?

Currently there are 2 approaches to keying. One is to select the control and manually set keys then disable the effect, which is the most flexible. The other is to bake the keys using an internal bake option, which bakes all channels in the selected range. This bake system is actually the first step to a more flexible system, which will provide 2 sliders one for rotation, one for motion. When using the second system when ever there is a key on that sliders channel a key will be placed for x,y,z or h,p,b respectively.
The problem with automatically setting the keys is if you’re using a reverse foot setup and the control for the effect is not actually the control your animating it will likely never have any keys to read from.
Aside from the default on/off control for effects, there is also an active slider that turns the effect on and off. By using the slider you can smoothly transfer from the effect to FK animation. This lets you animate without the effects of the plugin for any given number of frames and then translate the plugin back to the on position and continue using the plugin to animate with.
An example would be to have the plugin on and walk 3 steps forward. At 3rd step place a key on the active slider in the on position to hold it from 0 to the current frame. The 4th step the character gets ready to jump and the active slider is reduced to off over the period of a couple frames. The character performs the jump, at the end of the jump while the character is rising the active slider if transitioned back to the on position and the character can walk away using the plugin. This is an example of how in one scene the character can be animated with and without the plugin based on the requirements of the scene.

what codec did u use for the videos

the codec is Windows Media 9. If you download the encoder tools for windows media it includes a desktop video capture option that incodes directly to wmv. If I remeber correctly I used the Lame mp3 encoder for the audio.

Do you have an estimated time of release for this, or how much you might charge for it?

I'm looking to at next week for release, assuming nothing else turns up that I feel should be added first. I've finished a number of recent updates and need to go back through the documentation adding some more information and new screen shots. I'm still finalizing price, but it will be resonable and you will be able to download and try out the plugin with limited functionality.
