View Full Version : three or quad monitor setup?
harmonic01 05-03-2004, 01:47 AM Have anybody know how to have a 3 or 4 monitor setup with 2 video gards. One on agp and one on pci slot? I'm just don't know which video cards would work together well and would it be possible then to install 2 video card drivers.
Thanks

The nvidia PCI and AGP cards work great with each other and even support OpenGL/D3D acceleration over booth.
Best of all, only one driver needed and they have the best multi-mon software in the industry (IMHO).

a recent development let me assure you
I still own the first dualhead Nvidia GPU (in an old box) and it sucked
the current interation of the dualhead control is impressive
but the blueprint they followed was laid down by Matrox
(which is also very good and has been around far far longer)
I eventually replaced my GeForce2 MX (Asus V7100-2V1D) with a Matrox G550 (which was fine for 2D) out of sheer frustration with the software which worked properly with Win98 but not with W2K
(my email correspondence was both prolific and scathing)
Now that I have a QuadroFX Im glad they have the dualhead software under control with Nvidia Forcewear Unified Driver Architecture (http://www.nvidia.com/object/feature_nview.html) (nview)
the Nvidia Quadro NVS Series (http://www.nvidia.com/page/quadronvs.html) would likely be what your looking for

Thanks allot for your replies. I was wondering if NVIDIA Quadro® NVS are the only solution. I wonder if Quadro FX and GeForce ti could be bundled in to a 3 or 4 monitor setup? You think that is possible?
Thanks
