All right, my idea is a laboratory where a very mad scientist makes experiments with monkeys (very fictitious, uh?), a lot of machinery here and there and a little monkey on the table

not sure if it can be considered Line art, I dont Ink images that I will color not comic-book style and when I make a free image like that I want to rebuild some elements freely, anyway, as a 2D checklist, I cleaned it up a little

I was looking at your scientist character..It's amazing...It looks like 3D ! You have the same way to use lights and shadows...I know it is 2D, for sure, but I'm really surprised ! It's interesting !
Even the pose! Incredible !

hello, glad you like, I´m spending a lot of time and effort on this piece.

ive been following your thread for a while and i have to say, that your paint work is just scary in terms of how good it looks.

Ive seen small thumbnails of the doctors image a i could swear it looks 3D. I know other people have also mentioned it before, but youve done an awesome job, congrats.

hi spacesnail thanks for your suggestion, you meant like that?

06-03-2004, 01:06 AM
Personally i liked the two normal eyes, still gives the sense that he is somewhat artifical but not overdone. The dark area around his eyes looks like hes wearing some sort of dark glasses or are you showing that he has deep set eyes and thats the shadow thats created? you could make the red eyes like rings in a guns sight or a target rather than a glowing hot spot of red light.

And once again youve done an awsome job on th fur, i cant wait to see the full image. Keep it up. :bounce:

spacesnail
06-03-2004, 11:43 AM

Sketchfiend is right, two eyes seems to be a better idea.
Try to figure them as simple red circles (like some fashion portraits, if you know what I mean).
