The immediate thing i noticed is that his head is too wide in the side view and the forehead is too small and slopes too much. The nose and mouth are a bit far from eachother as well. I would suggest using references that can be found pretty easily online as modeling guides. Either that or draw side and front views of your character. I think if you move and tweak the face around it'll shape up nicely.

I agree. Most of the problem lies in your proportions. As a rule of thumb, the eyes are usually on the halfway line between your chin and the top of your head. So I think that if you raise the forehead a bit, and work on your proportions, you should be able to get it looking pretty good. Your topology is pretty nice too, but personally, I would add a few more loops around the eye area and around the mouth.

There are a lot of art books with proportion charts, or I'm sure you could find them online. Try fineart.sk, they seem to have a decent image selection.

Nice :) big improvement to your proportions 2nd time around. I attached an image w/ some marks on where i think you might be able to define your face a little bit more. Some of it is more personal taste than anything else, like defining the chin a little more to make it stronger, but then again maybe you wanted that particular look for your chin, i dunno, so take it w/ a grain of salt. One thing is you could round out the upper part of the back of the head and then bring it in around ear level where the neck meets the head. That stuff is in the attached image. Oh proportion wise a simple way to do it is eyes in the middle and bottom of nose is in the middle of the bottom half (from dividing line of eyes) and mouth is halfway again. I went ahead and drew that in the attached file too.

Hey, i like the progression of this. one thing though, im not sure if you wanted the neck that skinny, but i think it may be a bit misproportioned. Because a head is a rather heavy body part, and the neck wouldnt be able to support the head. check a refrence.
