Stunning work, especially in the lighting. I'd like to see a little more detail around the elbow. But to achieve that amount of realism without textures is amazing

The fact that you can see the bone structure is just plain scary!!!!
The feet alone are a render in themselves.
Front page is well deserved.Your amazingly talented fella.

Thnx to all! I'm really happy and satisfied that you like it! I used 3dsmax, some references from www.3d.sk (http://www.3d.sk/) and one photo which was my main references, It was photo of women in this pose. In the begining i did some mid poly model of standing girl, then skinning and I get her to this pose a againg convert to editable poly and rebuild practically whole mesh expect face. for expample I modified ear 3 times then I deleted it a create completely new... and I 'm still not satisfied with it.:(, This girl was my first organic model and it was training of modeling and skinning for me. One more time thnx.

Good job getting front-page...and more importantly good job on the model (the feet look excelent ;) ). The only thing that usually annoys me about stuff this cool is there always seems to be only 1 view.

:bounce: More Renders (at different angles) :bounce:

It's 3D, might as well make more...

WOW, i know every one has been expressing simple responses but its hard not to. The model looks g-r-e-a-t great so theres not much to say :) the only thing that i thought i noticed was that her eyes look open, and for such a calming pose it seems like her eyes should be closed. Other then that i love it. Beauty in simplicity.

Wonderfull job. Looks so real. Are you going to try some colour or will you leave it at its current state (looks great as is, just curiuos though).

U use scanline for it or some fancy renderer?

As posted previously by others, IMO as well this would pass as a photo, were it not for the ear.

All in all, amazing work.

DenkoM
05-01-2004, 02:01 PM
It was rendered with QMC method in final redner with skylight and one big black box behind the camera to simulate that photographer is standing in the black room and she is illuminated from white background and from big white area lights. It is standart photographic method...

one more time thanx to all...

Some minor crits ----
Except for the ear, its perfect. The pose is demanding, but you handled it nicely. The elbow joint is good. You effectively bypassed the knee joint issues with that pose. The ribs dont look that perfect in top view though.

carn1fex
05-01-2004, 05:09 PM
wonderful! only crit is that the forearms seem too short.. probably due to them being angled towards the head. Yes the photo probably looks like that too-photos arnt perfect either:). Maybe some tricks with lighting would better suggest that the arms are pointed inwards.

Why not model it in a t-stance, rig it, then pose it into this position? It's a nice model but not practical. I guess if you never want to pose it in another position it's fine.

Nevermind. I missed the post where you said you did skin the model.

DenkoM
05-01-2004, 07:42 PM
to brian_dlm: of course it is unpracticaly but from begining there was only one purpose of this girl ..... sex :)
It is just the question of method and time and myself how i can achieff same solution in short time, this is question of finished work and no question why.

This is really fantastic work. I hope you get a good job doing 3d modelling .. I sure would like to see more.

What software do you use 3ds Max, Maya, XSI ... ?

EDIT: Sorry, I missed your replly that you used Max and that you used Final Render. Wonderful to see such beauty both in regards to modeling and lightning using Max.

excellent anatomy and excellent anatomy modeling :)
one thing bothers me, and it has been said here before - the eyes, imo, should be shut. but it matters so little that i'm not sure it was worth the effort of actually typing all that :)

anyway, couldn't u post some wires of the foot without isoline display? so we can see the real control mesh?

05-01-2004, 09:04 PM
bravo. really nice piece out there. i like it a lots. stuff like this that knowing modelers that understand anatomy that makes my world keep spinning.
one thing that is really disturbed me tho . . her ears. . . looks really disturbing. its looks like u rush it.
but beside that bravo. very Indah (indonesian) translate it ur self.

ehm... I don't know if I have wrong setup of monitor or my eyes are wrong but i can see her eyes:shrug: . How do you know that she has opened eyes just from the wire or do you really see that her eyes are opened.. It is really pity if i knew about my wrong eyes/monitor setup then there will never be "defect" like this:shrug:

I'm really impressed with the small details you've included. The ribs in her back as the skin stretches, the folds on her stomach and creases on her ankles and soles of her feet are all extremely well done, and you've got a fantastic eye for detail.

Not even considering for a moment you've not even needed textures, this is simply the single best 3D life/anatomic model I've seen on CgTalk ever.

Fantastic job, and well done.

05-01-2004, 11:13 PM
This is a great piece of art work. Are we going to be able to see more wireframe posts?
I know this character is physiqued , but is she fully articulated for animation?
Or is this model just made for this pose?
Either way the work is wonderful.
I know it takes a long time to get just the right look.
Realisticaly how many hours did it take?
A very inspirational piece.

Cheers

nice job man, the pose is what really makes the piece in my opinion, the feet are really nice to. One thing though is her arm and hands seems a bit off to me where the skin folds at the joints, as well as the wrist looks like it doesnt have the main grouping of bones in the back end of the palm (its very noticable though, like when you fold your wrists down it pops out really clearly, and is there even when the hand isnt stressed). Other than that, its a really nice piece

The only problem are the ribs that I think are a litle bit too oriented towards the pelvis, I think that the should go a litle bit more tovard the sternum.

The hands are missing veins. yes veins. The rest of the model is so detailed, that the lack of veins, that would be visible on the average persons hand, is noticed with this model.
Perhaps if they are not missing veins then it is just the lighting, which by the way, is very good. Thank you for explaining the process that you took to light it. It reminds us that we should look to the real world for examples and seting-up a scene of somesort to effect the lighting. Thank you.

Her jawbone looks as though it goes behind her ear. Again this might be the lighting, because looking at the wireframe leads me to belive it is modeled right. But everyone knows there is a difference between the wireframe and the final render.

I mentioned the lighting twice, but I don't want that to change because of the critique. Don't touch it, unless you are going to improve it in someway that was part of your original concept of the image. It already creates enough gorgous contrast and rich blacks. So I could be mentioning problems that could possibly happen in real life. This is a good thing.

Sweet! It looks so awesome, but the graininess makes her look almost like a wooden statue. I like your last picture where she is smooth looks a lot better, even though the lines are pixelated. Also her fingernail (not her pinky finger but the one next to it) looks too big and curved compared to the other finger.

I love the creases you put on the back of her ankle and the toes look realistic because of the way you positioned them to curl. Also I like her hairline, very real-like. Good job over all though! :)

Your model looks fantastic. All that without textures.

I have a question.
Did you model the figure in this position or did you model her standing, rig her, and put her in that position?

Just curious

Please, I'm learning from wire structures and it is a little dificult to see the real aspect of the mesh without subdiv in this vision.
You used the new wire vision of max 6, didn't you?
It's similar to the lightwave mesh vision.
Could you post the wired same images without the subdivision? I think it would be easy to render.

Thanks for your time, I'm also studying but I'm studying only your work ;) it's amazing.

I would just add that the length between the hand and the anckle is a bit short, and that the anckle's folding isnt as realistic as the feets.
Otherwise thats one of the best 3D human body Ive seen.

Hi

Now thats a cool piece of work. At a moment it looked like a photographic material, till I saw the other non-renders. I like the posture and ofcourse the hair. it is neat. nothing much to anything about mistakes, but in one go... Great!!!

DenkoM dude great work! As a WORK OF ART it totally rocks! It's a great compostion with very little fuss in terms of your mesh and the lighting suits it great!

Given enought time (or pages) people will find everything wrong with your model and nit pick it to death! it starts off "great work" "excelllent model" and quicly becomes "the ear is wrong..the forhead is too big..the eyes are open..and thats wrong!" etc.

Its cool, you knew that, you posted, and now people MUST tear it apart! Keep up the good work man!

Excellent job, particularly so on the feet. As others have mentioned, the ears could perhaps be tweaked a little, but they are mostly in shadow on my screen.
The eyes...........on my monitor (which too be fair is slightly dark), they are completely in shadow and not visible. If I take it into PS I have to up the brightness 50% before they become visible and look as they do on the wire....i.e not as closed but as open.
As say ..to most this is not likely to be visible but can easily be fixed should it bother you.
Again great job.

I' m impressed! almost perfect!

I have some minor criticisms to make it even better... (hope you excuse the latin terms, I' m unsure of the english ones)

The jawline (processus/condyle part of the mandibula) should go in front of the ear not, as it seems, behind it.

The shoulder muscle (dorsal part of deltoid) should go further up the scapulae. It kind of cuts short too soon. I'm not sure but maybe the scapulae itself should be more tilted in that position.

The front part of the pelvis (coxae) which protrudes as a sharp ridge should be more pronounced and situated just behind the end of the leg and a little up. That whole area looks wrong now.

Probable the neck joints (vertebrae "axis"(?)) should form a bump a little higher on the neck.

The back muscle (lattismus dorsi) going from armpit to lower back should be tilted more towards spine.

Neck muscle (trapezius) has its origin at the base of the neck (occipitalis)

But this is just very minor things, I would not bring it up if you were not so close to perfection in this figure! Just love the feet!!!! best I have ever seen in CG I think. Your first attempt at organic modelling?! You have a bright future...

Hope I have been of some assistance

In the begining i did some mid poly model of standing girl, then skinning and I get her to this pose a againg convert to editable poly and rebuild practically whole mesh expect face.

Creating a model in neutral pose, then skinning it and make it look THIS good in a pose like this seems almost impossible to me. I know I made one atempt at skinning (with Character Studio) my own nude female model, but I would never get away with a pose like this, not by default anyway... (If anyone can give me some tips/tutorials on how to get realistic skinning/rigging I would love to hear it).

...Anyway this model/rendering turned out really amazing. Looks very photoreal to me! Great work!!! Kudos! :)

Yes marvelous work! I think you stole my idea though ;) .I did something in a very similar manner just a while ago. It was also my first character and anatomy study(http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131809)

But your's is incredible. There are a few flaws, like others allready mentioned, that could be improved like the ear and hands, but overall this is so stunning! You gave great attention to the feet that look ultra photorealistic!

Once again, great job!

Nope - I have an image that I took from the front of a package in a chemist which is absolutely identical to DenkoM's, even down to the detail on the soles of the feet. Maybe he used the image as reference? Maybe his work was so good, they stole it? Who knows...

PS - obviously it's some shit hot 3D modelling...just think you should check your sources there...and quote them.

So you're a lying little monkey then? Do you find that your girlfriend reads a lot of books? Watches lots of television? Spends a lot of time on the phone? Doesn't get home until three in the morning?

Shits me to tears really - you've ripped off someone's work, lied to everyone about it, and sat back to enjoy the glory. Makes me wonder how much of the rest of your work is your own - I realise that reference is really important, but if I went out and made a space toy that looked exactly like Buzz Lightyear, down to the blinking light, it wouldn't be original - it would be Buzz goddamn Lightyear. Okay?

Could you do us a big favour though and show us her face? There's some really good ones you could rip off at Playboy.com

Real classical pose for photographer, but it works very well...

My only comment should be: it is almost "too perfect" What do I mean by this? The curve of her back following by her buttock is without any imperfection, which make her "too perfect" so unreal.

By the way, I specially appreciate the light and the render which are really beautifull

Ok the image is super-cool, but only two little crits: the ears and the fingers look unrealistical. A tip from my old art teacher make them look soft and flexible(ears) and for those fingers some reshaping and it should be fine. I'll look for more things you should fix to make the image perfect and I'll tell you. You want the pic to be perfect, don't you? Bye for now!

It looks good. The only critism that I can think of is that women that skinny typically are more defined in the hips, especially when in the fedal position like you have yours. Try to extend the pelvis and focus on the bone poking out a little bit more. The legs also blend a little too well with her hind quarters to be realistic. Other than that nice work!

Nobody else took you to task on this, so I will.

He did declare this as a source. On Page 2, Spike. He mentioned explicitly that he used a photo ref of a woman in this pose. Perhaps you think he should had linked to the photo, but in my book he came clean. You're a big enough man to call Denko a thief. It seems you lack the character to appologize once he set the record straight. I looked at your profile, and besides asking a lot of noob questions, I can't find one damn example of anything you've ever built. So you really have a lot of nerve questioning somebody else's artistic merit or ethics.

The comments about his girlfriend are another cheap shot. You call him a thief and in the same post you act as a troll. Your credability is nil as far as I'll ever care.

05-01-2004, 06:23 AM

Thnx to all! I'm really happy and satisfied that you like it! I used 3dsmax, some references from www.3d.sk (http://www.3d.sk/) and one photo which was my main references, It was photo of women in this pose.
