Hey, I have a question.. and I am stumped, so I would appreciate any help.

I have some 360 degree QTVR panaromas of some very interesting locations in Hi-Res, and I would really like to use them as starting points for CG environments, or even image based lighting. The problem is.. how do you take the QTVR format and put it in your 3d package ( I am using MAYA ). I have quicktime pro, and this allows me to take still shots of the QTVR, but only from the limited perspective, and so I would haveto export many images and then either re-stitch them, or use them to build from inside of MAYA. What I really want to do is to be able to directly convert the 360 QTVR to an image, which can then be mapped to a sphere, or cut apart in photoshop. I havent been able to find any software that will allow me to do this ( I have tried a few of the stiching programs ). Anyone have a tip of good idea for me?:lightbulb

well you can always composite in post, with software like DFX, though i'm not sure you can use QTVR with DFX either...hmmm

Ya. QTVR is a good source for hi-res environments, and Id like to be able to project them onto spheres in maya, and then use that to re-build the environment in 3d.. rather than just finding as many photos as possible 4 reference, for instance I have a good qtvr inside manhattan which would provide a really good basis for creating a new york street environment.
