powerfull image u got there m8!
You're really on the top threads for this contest.

My suggestion:
The breast muscles are too down, because they look relaxed, in spite of his arms being projected to the back of his bodie.

Also the the rib/abdominals connection are wierd! When anyone is in that position, the flesh will bend in the tummy area, not in the aexternus. Sholders an neck are wierd too.

In spite of the crits, Brutal job, again!

05-26-2004, 07:57 AM
Fascinating take on the mother earth idea. I like it very much and although it is very suggestive, I dont see it as a problem. You obviously are trying to create something that is very provocative.

I hope the final composition will do the subject matter the justice that it deserves. With something like this, I think you need to take a very sombre approach to the lighting and textures.

Some very nice modelling in there too... =)

aLxDesigns
05-26-2004, 08:20 AM
Very nice level of detail!
Just a thought...the muscles of the lower arm look a little fragile to hold that kind of structure...or maybe it could? I dont know  but it looks a little odd.

Other then that, very nice progress and idea! Cant wait to see the final result of efforts!

KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!! :buttrock:

that looks really impressive!

one small comment: perhaps you could "twist" a bit his head and put it a bit lower so it gives more the impression of a heavy weight

I would add also some wrinkles to his forehead (perhaps you were already planning to do that with textures) that would magnify the feeling of a heavy burden

Luter

Good work man...Art, ideas, thoughts....have always caused discussions...Do what you feel, what you like, that's all...the purpose of discussion on this forum (in my task) is not to modify the principe of the primal idea of a concept but eventually to enhance technical and artistical capacities and sometimes to find a better idea...

Anyway, sorry for my bad english, keep up !:D

Nuu see poaate!! Beton! Traiasca Vladutu!

The concept is super, the character looks great, and the most important, you're made to do 3D.
I would have some suggestions for the face expression. I think there's somethig that doesn't look right. The muscles around the nose are a bit too contracted for a closed mouth;

And to suggest the heaviness on the character you could bury his neck a bit or raise the shoulder. All in all, great work. Three thumbs up. Mai vb.

Go on, man! Your conception is the best one, imo, in all challenge: you've put the man (flesh) in his ontological place! Go on, man! You have to finish this!
Good luck! I'm waiting!

Wow! If there's one thing these contests have done it's fostered the development of some excellent fine art pieces. This is a good example of that process, hope to see this one finished.
