Pretty cool!
Reminds me of "Indiana Jones: Raiders of the lost arc".
Comments: I think the box is to neat, every board is as long as the other.
Edit: omg! I've been looking for this image, since I saw it once a long time ago: http://www.cee-gee.net/Gallery/Images/JoinUP.jpg
nice!

It looks great. The shadows are too hard though. Something about the gold shaders bugs me but i can't place it....does anyone else see that too?
Very nice! As mentioned above there could be more variation in those planks.

Yes, i think u are right about the too linear planks.
The crane and the ark should be fairly low poly models for a cg movie, so i did not put much detail , expecially in the crane.
I'll evaluate the possibility to put much detail and variations for this still image.
Thanks everybody for the comments!

looks better now. More random.
Only thing I can say now is that the planks still look to polished on the side where they were cut off.

The base is too small to balance itself, make the base of the legs wider.

Nice work! :D
The crate is very cool :)
The gold also bugs me a bit though - it seems a bit too...ummm.... sparkly
But then again, I guess it is the ark of the covenant :p

I think the gold could use more contrast. The gold is way too bright overall I think. It should have more spots where it's nearly black.
Try making the color darker, and up the reflections a bit.
Also, placing some whitecards (white objects with a very high intensity) in the surroundings might make your reflections look a bit more interesting.
