Hi - not been using c4d long, this is the first decent size job i have attempted on it and i must say im impressed by the workflow of the software.

Anyway, the jobs an interior/corporate reception type affair. I would be particularly interested in hearing any comments regarding the lighting of thre scene. Please dont hammer me to much!

Just as apoint of interest - i have rendered a 1000 frame anim running at 20fps (480*320) Total render time of 41 hours on a new g4 mac - 512mb 900mhz. Total time on job was about a week (including design of the job, graphics etc not including animation render). would be interested to see how this compares with you guys.

Best regards,

Is this a GI render or did you Raytrace it?

It looks GI, is why I'm asking, very soft edges and well lit.

Good stuff. Architecture stuff is really loads of work to get a good image. Grey I don't think it is GI, but amapimaster might prove me wrong. Probably down to good lighting knowledge.

My suggestion to get photorealism (if that is what you want) would be to add small details and dirt or blemishes. And then after the renders soften the picture to take the crispyness off the render. Use levels and curves aswell to push contrast and slightly desaturate the colours, again to make it more real world.

send the link to the animation if you can.

Well done again.

thanks for comments - it isnt GI, only just started playing about with GI and it just seems to take forever if you using anything other than primitives. Its lit by 5 omnis and 1 spot if i remember..

I cant post a link to the anim yet, nowhere to put it! It turned out quite well, I had the door rotating plus a bit of a blobby logo animation on the glass video screen to give it some movement and to prevent it looking like a graphic panel.

Once again thanks for comments, my usual work is exhibition stands, pos etc
will post more stuff as it comes.
