View Full Version : PS Extras -how do I get rid of this 4-ever ?
erikals 04-30-2004, 12:13 PM Hi,
I know this has been asked before, but it was some time ago so I though I'd ask again as it annoys me so much...
:) Yes, the blue lines are trying to break me down...
Anyway, I know I can hit Ctrl +H to get rid of them, but when you have 50 pictures open at once, it's kind of annoying hitting Ctrl +H on each picture.
So.... :) I'm wondering, anyone figured this puzzle out?

i think its set per document...try seeing if you can turn off or change the visibility settings with no document open.
Ctrl+H you turn off the whole group of Extras, try to turn off slices individually in the View > Show or View > Show > Show Extra Options...

Ya that's a bummer that Adobe wasn't thinking on this issue. They should've included a global setting for this option.
Technically though they shouldn't be ON be default.
If you're getting them every time you open an image, then it may be from them being ON from a previous open document. Try closing all the images, opening a new empty doc, and if the Slices are showing, then turn them off under the VIEW menu, and close that document. Then close PS. Then startup PS again, and open all you other documents.
(PS can remember the last used settings when it's closed, that's why we're trying this method.)
And if that doesn't work...
Here's a way to at least eleviate it a bit visually though...
Go into the Prefs, under the "Guides, Grid & Slices" settings. Untick the "Show Slice Numbers" option. Then you'll just have the faint dotted outline around your canvas, but at least the numbers won't be there.
