Hello,

How does say a Nvidia Quadro Card perform in games? Can they perform the same as the Geforce FX. My reason for asking is that I am a both a keen gamer and a Maya Hobbyist but I know that there are some performance issues with Maya and games cards lke the Geforce & Radeon.

Having said that, I haven't seen too many problems using my current card which is Geforce 4 based.

Another option or me would be to fit both a Game Card, like a Radeon or a Geforce, and a Pro Card like a Quadro or Fire GL based card.

Does anybody have any experience on any of the above?

The Quadro cards work in games pretty well, similar to the chip that the gaming card is based off of. So the QuadroFX series preforms about the same as the GeForce cards based off of the NV30. Although for shader-based games I must say that they don't handle very well at all; but that was a limitation of the NV30.

I would defnintly hold out to see what the Spec numbers are for the GeForce6 series. It may very well have Maya preformance similar to the current Quadro line and for games it will blow them out of the water.
