View Full Version : particle bounce
pdrake 04-30-2004, 12:00 AM hi, when i want to have particles bounce off of objects, is it better to have a low poly proxy, that the camera doesn't see as a collision object? will this speed up the fx? thanks.

Yes, but very few polygons can also make that the particles pass over the geometry. Test and make it appropiately.

thanks, gerado. i'll keep that in mind. this time it's a floor with a hole in it. the hole's edge has a round edge, which adds alot of polys. i put in a low poly proxy, and voila. 10 secs vs 1 hr. on a 2 x 2 g5. it was good to learn both points. thanks, guys.
