View Full Version : Hair & MD - settings, help, etc.?
ArtisticVisions 04-29-2004, 10:25 PM I've just started working with MD (while I wait for my LW 8 upgrade to ship.....) and while I am fairly decent with creating cloth, I have no idea what settings are needed to best create hair. I want it to move and deform, but not so much that it loses it shape or doesn't return to it's original form.
Any ideas or posible settings that you've used for hair?

Use a simple standin for the hair so it doesnt lose shape or volume. Apply MD to that and then save the mdd file. Reapply tht to your hair object using MDMetaPlug

Ehh....... you're going to have to describe what exactly you mean, since I have no idea what that means or what it would do....

My advice would be to do a search under hair, MD, MDPlug, MDMetaPlug in both the manual and here on the forum. Its best to at least have a basic idea of what does what. Theres also been several threads posted on here that cover what you want to do pretty well. :)

I'm kinda bumping this old thread cause now I have LW 8, but I'm really having a hard time trying to create dynamic hair using the new cloth dynamics. Anybody figured out a solution on how to do this in 8?
